Update and Random Things

I know I have been posting a lot lately but I feel like I have to since we live so far away from family and friends! So a little update, they started our house today! I cannot even begin to tell you how excited I was when we drove past and saw them digging! I am just glad it is started! Now the waiting and watching will begin!

Second thing: I am trying to be a better mother, housewife, person, etc. Colby and I have started to do family nights more and spend time together as a family. We are going to be attending General Conference with my family this weekend and I can't wait! I always love listening to the speakers and seeing the Prophet. It will be a little different this year because I am always used to seeing President Hinkley. Anyway, so I have been writing down a weekly dinner menu since I have been a slacker at cooking! Maybe if I share it with you, it will encourage me to actually make it!
Monday: Chicken Cordon Blu
Tuesday: Hamburger Helper (I know its not a real dinner but it's Colby's favorite)
Wednesday: Diana's Italian Chicken
Thursday: Tacos
Friday-Sunday: We will be in Nephi so....

Third Thing: Trevin is continually growing!
What describes him...
1. All the spatulas and measuring cups get scattered around the house daily!
2. He can now say Dad, BaBa (bottle), baby, when you say "one" he will say "two," he will say mom but it's not very often, Grandpa (he says this all the time) and his newest word....COLBY! I about died the other day when he said this. He was saying it off and on the other day and one morning when he woke up, he started yelling "Colby" to come get him out of his crib! We just laid in bed and laughed!
3. He loves books! Trevin will go into his room, grab a book, and home sit in your lap. This is his cue that he wants you to read to him. He knows Patty-Cake and how to play Peek-A-Boo.
4. He loves to go swimming and play in the bath tub
5. He is quite the snuggler!
6. He climbs on anything and anyone and when you tell him "No No" he will shake his finger like I do when I tell him "No No"
7. He loves grape juice and orange V8 splash
8. He knows who Elmo and Mickey Mouse are
9. He thinks it's fun to tip his bottle over and watch the Milk drip out!
10. He is our little man and we love him dearly!

HIstoric Park in St. George

Today we had a little family fun time! We have been noticing this little water park inside the Historic Park of St. George. I didn't know how Trevin would like it but he loves water so I figured we could give it a try. There is a little lazy river type thing that is probably six inches deep, small waterfalls, and lots of places to just get your feet wet! He loved it so much!

Trevin loved the water pop-up part (whatever you want to call it) but the concrete was so slippery that he couldn't stand up for very long. Don't worry he only fell down hard twice and still wanted to go back out and play.

This is Trevin after falling on his face. He cried for a second and then after he watched the other kids playing he pulled himself away from us, waved bye, and went and started playing again! What a kid!

My Little Monkey!

So this morning I woke up not feeling very well and I had a terrible sore throat. I called the ICU and they said I could not come to work just because of the high risk patients. So Trevin was just wandering around the house and I ran into use the bathroom (everyone has to go sometime during the day and can't watch their kids 24/7 right?) and when I came out, this is what I saw! I was in total shock! Trevin had pulled the top off his high chair and climbed up onto the counter from his high chair! I CANNOT believe he can do some of the things he has been doing lately! It's just a good thing he didn't fall off because he would have smacked right onto tile! I love him to death but he is sure a monkey lately!

Yes, We are Crazy!

So last week when my sister came down to visit, we decided to go get hair extensions! It was so much fun and exciting to have a little change. I am sure you are all probably thinking how crazy we are to do this but honestly it was so much fun! I have wanted to get extensions for a while now and after talking to my friend Camille I decided to try it! She showed us how to put them in and everything. Hilary didn't have a small enough curling iron when we did hers so don't judge just off this picture. Anyway, it was so much fun and I am so glad I got to spend a little girl time with my sister!

Camille was also supposed to put more blonde through the top of my hair today but my son decided to get an ear infection yesterday and a contagious eye infection so we were not able to do it. I can't wait! And by the way, I didn't have anyone to take my pic to show everyone so I took these pics in the mirror at my house. :)

Is that a REAL bug?

Click on the picture to blow it up and get the full detail...Hilary talked to me at the first of the week and told me she wanted to come visit us. She got to Cedar City tonight and we went out to eat at the Pizza Factory. When we got home she went out to her car to get her stuff and came back in. She immediately asked me "Is that a real bug?" I was a little confused and asked her what she was talking about. We went outside and this HUGE ant was sitting on my front porch. After watching it for about five minutes, it didn't move at all. We poked it with a pencil and it started crawling. Yes...we jumped, screamed, laughed, and stared in aw at this huge ant looking bug. THEN, Hilary had the brillant idea of catching the bug. We caught it (while looking like idiots in our PJ's as my neighbors looked on) in a jar and brought it up to show Colby. He didn't belive me at first when I told him there was a huge bug outside. When we showed him, he was caught off guard too! I have no idea what it's called but its large, ugly, and creepy crawly! What an exciting night so far!

On my mind....

one. When is my little boy going to stop growing up so fast? Today when I look at him and play with him I feel like he is too big already. I remember those days when I would hold him in my arms and he would sit still, the times that he slept more than two hours during the day, and the time when he didn't crawl all over my couches and the tables! He is only 14 months old and I feel like he gets bigger and bigger everyday. He is always finding something new to get into. What's really on my mind is how much I LOVE him!

two. Why is my house a disaster right now? I can't believe how messy a house can get when you are working and traveling to Nephi so often. Today I have done about seven loads of laundry, cleaned all my bathrooms, and am now working on deciding what to make for dinner. I talked to my dad earlier on the phone and he said "you're just doing all the motherly things" and that is exactly what I have been doing today. I do love being a mom but sometimes I feel like cleaning your house all the time is wasted time. I just want to play with Colby & Trevin.

three. What are we going to do about our living situation? We are in the process of building a house in St. George right now and I wish it was built right now! LOL! I am the most impatient person I know. When I want something, I want it now! We are trying to decide what to do about either renting here in Cedar City (in the place we are in) or moving into a home that is just around the corner from where our house is being built. The Ences were nice enough to find us a rental house before our house is completed and we are debating on moving down there! I guess I am just so excited to move into my own house that I feel like moving down there would be somewhat the same!

four. I love my job! I was so nervous to take the ICU job in St. George because I was afraid people would be mean, stuck up, or just not willing to help me learn everything I needed to learn. After two weeks of work, I can honestly say that I love my job! I love the people, I love the atmosphere, I love the learning experiences I am getting, but most of all I love being a nurse! I had a patient talk to me about being a nurse and the type of people who are nurses. She explained her gratitude for nurses and how important they are. I explained to her that although I am not the richest person in the world, I love my job and what I do! At that moment I realized exactly why I love being a nurse no matter how much I get paid. My job is so rewarding!

five. I can't stop thinking about NieNie and her family. I am not sure if any of you are aware or not but you can read about her family on the blog button I have posted on the side. Her and her husband were in a plane crash and they are both in critical condition. I used to read her blog all the time and it's hard to understand what her family is going through right now. They are having to take care of four children while her and her husband are in critical condition in the hospital. It makes me realize just how important family is and also how important the gospel is. I think about them on a daily basis!

Juab Football Game

Last Friday we went to Nephi to visit our families and to watch my brother-in-law Jordan play football. We also went to Lagoon on Saturday with the Park's for Kent's work party and we had so much fun! It was nice to take a break from work and school and be with our families. It was my parent's wedding anniversary on Friday as well so we ate dinner with them after the game. My mom prepared an awesome dinner with pork sandwiches that she had cooking all day long! She took a lot of time to make dinner for us! We appreciate our families so much and all they do for us! We love you guys and miss you!

The Demolition Durby

These are pictures from our other date night we had with our other friends Jay & Cara Miller (Rex & Graycee came too but I am not sure why I didn't get a picture of them). They just had a baby about three months ago! He is the cutest thing ever! Jay & Cara were in our ward in Nephi and we had a blast getting to know these guys! We were able to hangout with them for a little bit at the game this last Friday but I wish we would've got to hangout longer. They have been some of our best friends this last year! We will miss you guys!

Date Night

A few weeks before we moved we got together with Rex & Graycee to have a date night (along with Trevin of course). We went out to eat in Springville and then went to their house to play some games. It was so much fun hanging out together! Rex and I loved the salsa but it was so Spicy it made us sweat! I LOVE spicy food! We call Trevin "Little Rexy" because Rex thinks he is somehow related to our son! I guess considering the fact that he is Colby's best friend he could possibly be related.....I am not sure! It has been a little inside joke since he was born. Trevin hated Rexs' beard and kept pulling away from him so he didn't have to touch it! I am going to miss haning out with these guys now that we live so far away!

Sunday's at our House...

It's been a while since we have been home on Sunday with just the three of us! When we lived in Nephi we were always eating dinner at either my parent's house or the Park's house. I actually had to cook Sunday dinner a week ago. Nothing special but at least we got dinner. It was fun to just relax together, take a nap, and watch a movie together that night. Now all we need to do is figure out how to entertain our busy little boy in Sacrament meeting!
